What are the requirements for ISO certification in the UAE?
To obtain an ISO certificate in the UAE, your organisation needs a management system that meets the requirements of your chosen ISO standard, together with the documented information that standard calls for. Certification is then carried out by an accredited certification body. UCS is a GAC and ASIB accredited certification body: we assess your management system against the standard and issue the certificate. ISO certification requirements checklist
Before you apply for certification, the following should be in place:
- A valid UAE trade licence for the organisation seeking certification.
- An implemented management system that conforms to your chosen standard, for example ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001:2026 (Environmental Management Systems), or ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems).
- The documented information required by the standard, such as the scope of the management system, your policy and objectives, and the records that show the system is operating.
- A completed internal audit and management review. The ISO management system standards require both, and they need to be in place before the Stage 2 certification audit.
The exact documents depend on the standard you choose. Each ISO standard states the documented information it requires, and only that information is mandatory.

The ISO certification process
Once the requirements are in place, certification with UCS follows six steps:

- Final Report and Certification: a full report is issued and, once any nonconformities are addressed, the certificate is granted.
