The Department of Legal Affairs of the Ajman Government has achieved dual certification to ISO 31000:2018 (Risk Management) and ISO 31022:2020 (Legal Risk Management) — setting a new benchmark for governance and risk excellence in the UAE.
ISO 31000:2018 is the internationally recognised system for risk management, providing principles and guidelines that enable organisations to identify, assess, and manage risks systematically and effectively. ISO 31022:2020 extends this approach specifically to legal risk management — addressing the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks arising from legal obligations and proceedings.
Together, these certifications reflect the department’s proactive and structured approach to managing both organisational and legal risks — strengthening institutional governance, protecting public interests, and demonstrating accountability at the highest level. This achievement positions the Ajman Government’s legal function as a model for risk-informed governance across the UAE.
UCS, accredited by GAC and ASIB under ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015, is proud to have supported the Department of Legal Affairs of the Ajman Government in achieving this important milestone.
Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved recognition.
